All Nurture and No Sleep Makes Zen....

TIRED. BORING. CRANKY. UNIMAGINATIVE.

Anna's sick this week with a respiratory illness complete with swollen tonsils, fever, and laryngitis (how pathetic sounding is a two year old with a raspy whining cry.) This has caused her to cough herself into getting sick all over me and herself about 5 times, multiple loads of laundry, and my needing to sleep with her every night to keep her from crying herself into getting sick again. Oh-and that term,"sleep" is a bit exaggerated. I wouldn't exactly call it that. More like doze off, in between jolting awake to grab for the wastebasket every time she coughs.

Needless to say my brief moments unattached to an ill toddler are not spent thinking up bright and witty blog posts. Hopefully life will be back to normal next week :)

Til then...

I hope she feels better (and also you feel better!) soon. It is awful when they are unwell at that age, Jackson had a tummy bug a few months back and he kept throwing up in the worst places. Kind of like you I was constantly hovering near him around with a basin. I did the "doze" sleep thing too. Not too restful!

Wishing your baby a swift recovery!

Sounds rough. But at least you don't have to worry about calling off work to take care of her or having to GO to work with little to no sleep!

Here's hoping she has a speedy recovery! :)

Thanks everyone. I forgot to mention that this was the week that all pharmacies pulled infant cough/cold med off the shelves. We had a little RX left over and that got us through part of the week. On Thur Anna's Dr suggested Dyseum cough supressant for kids (not infants) and gave me Anna's dose. I am not into medicating a cough that's productive. But all this one was producing was her throwing up! So we gave it to her (half her dose actually) and it was a Godsend. She stopped coughing herself into getting sick immediately, and started laughing and smiling and SLEEPING without me the next day :)

She's still a little hoarse but doing much better and was up to Trick or Treat yesterday!

Get fully well soon little one!
Trick or treating always works. I think you would look weird doing it in the middle of summer though ;-)
